Iglesia Episcopal San Francisco de Asís Austin, Texas

San Francisco de Asís is a multicultural, Spanish-speaking congregation serving the greater South Austin community that seeks to love one another as Christ loves each person, and to live and worship authentically, according to the beliefs professed by the community and expressed in the Gospel of Christ.  The mission of San Francisco de Asís is, as a church community, to preach the Gospel, in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the language of the people so as to guide them in the faith in Jesus, as Lord.

For the past four years, under the direction of our vicar, Rev. José Palma, the congregation has implemented and maintained a number of ministries in the church including the training and service of Eucharistic ministers, readers, ushers, acolytes, choir members, and altar guild for Sunday morning worship; as well as an ever-growing Sunday Bible school class and Youth Ministry program.

San Francisco also supports a strong Christian Education program for children and offers family ministries through the work of the Couples’ Group, which meets weekly to discuss issues that affect family and spirituality.  

At San Francisco de Asís, we continue to support the Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs to offer to the youth of the community the opportunity to acquire leadership and various life skills, as well as to grow spiritually.   Our sports ministry to the greater South Austin community is designed to strengthen physical, mental, and spiritual health, to foster a sense of unity and community among the participants, and to provide an opportunity to share the message of the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ.
